Where do you two talk?
Pick the app and we'll walk you through getting your conversation out of it.
Only one of you needs to do this, so it can stay a surprise.
iMessage
iMessage keeps your conversations on your Apple devices, and no phone app can read them. So the book gets made on a computer, a Mac or a Windows PC. Only one of you needs one.
On your phone now? Pay for the book here, and we'll email you a link to finish it on your computer. It takes about ten minutes there.
Nothing was charged. It's all still here.
Rather not pay yet?
On a Mac
- Our Mac app reads your conversation from Messages and makes the book there. It's with Apple for its last check; leave your email and we'll send it the day it's out.
- Download Read Receipts for Mac, open the download, and drag the app to Applications. Open this page on the Mac to download it.
- Open it. It asks to read Messages: in System Settings, open Full Disk Access and turn on Read Receipts.
- Pick your conversation and make the book in the app. Or choose Make It on readreceipts.lol and it carries on here, in your browser.
On a Windows PC
- Get Apple Devices from the Microsoft Store. Plug your iPhone in, and tap Trust on it if it asks. In Apple Devices, choose Back up all of the data on your iPhone to this computer, then Back Up Now. The first one can take an hour.
- When the backup's done, download our helper. If the browser says it isn't commonly downloaded, keep it (in Edge: ⋯, Keep, Show more, Keep anyway). Open this page on the PC to download it.
- Open it. Windows may say it protected your PC, because we haven't signed the helper yet: choose More info, then Run anyway. It finds the backup, you pick the conversation, and only that one comes here, as text.
No computer nearby, or no time to wait: Use Screenshots Instead
- Copy this address. It's yours for the next hour.
Making your address… - In WhatsApp, open your conversation, tap its name at the top, then Export Chat. On Android: tap ⋮, then More, then Export chat. If you've added this site to your home screen, choose it in the share list and the chat comes straight here.
- Choose Without Media, then Mail. Paste the address into To, and send.

Screenshots
Works for any app. Scroll through your conversation taking screenshots, or use a scrolling screenshot. Up to 20.
Choose ScreenshotsScreenshots rarely show every date, so the Wrapped leans on who said what more than when.
A file or a paste
We read exports from Slack, Signal, SMS backups, Snapchat, LINE, Google Chat and most others.
