Read Receipts

Your conversation, in numbers

Wrapped is free in the Read Receipts Mac app. Pick a conversation or a group chat and it works out a dozen or so numbers, like who texted first and the latest night you were both still up. You get them as cards and a short video to post.

The app reads the conversation on your Mac and sends us nothing from it. A card has numbers, dates, names and each person's most-used word, and no message is quoted. Names can be initials, in full, or ones you type in.

Ross and Rachel's Wrapped

These come from the app's sample conversation. Yours are the same size: 1080 by 1920 for a story, 1080 square for a post.

The cover card: Ross and Rachel's conversation, in numbers, with the total count of messages.
The first “I love you” card: who said it first, the date, and how long the reply took.
The longest streak card: how many days in a row Ross and Rachel texted, and the dates it ran.
The cover card as a square post, for the feed.

Three sizes

Share it, and the book gets cheaper

Wrapped is free now. The rewards below start later this year, once the rules are final.

  1. 10% off your book

Post your Wrapped on TikTok, Instagram or X. Send us the link and a screenshot from the app, and you get a one-time code for 10% off your book.

  2. $15 toward yours

Every card carries your code. When a friend orders their first book with it, they get 10% off, and once it's paid, $15 goes onto a Read Receipts gift card for you.

  3. A free paperback

If your post reaches 10,000 views or 1,000 likes, send it in. A person checks it, and if it qualifies you get a gift card for a paperback with economy shipping, while the promotion's free books last.

A post that earns a reward is an ad, and US law says it has to say so. Put #ad on the card or in the video where people can see it, and at the start of the caption. Or turn on the platform's paid partnership label and add #ad as well. You can say anything you like about the book, good or bad, and the reward is the same. Facebook isn't part of the promotion. You must be 18 or older and live in the US. Read the official rules.

Then make the book

The book is every message as it was sent, typeset as a paperback with chapters, a dedication and page numbers. You make it in the same app from the same conversation, so the first “I love you” on your card can open a chapter or land on a page number you pick.
